Incorporating Flickr Into the Process
During the development of a new website one issue seems to pop up each time, how will the client manage the images he/she would like to use? We struggled with that question until we realized Flickr was the perfect place to host, tag, and comment images.
The ease of use and simple layout of Flickr allowed our clients to upload images they found quickly and tag them to the pages they wanted to see them in. We also were able to tag the images for internal use and comment on each image. This environment was perfect for a steady stream of image uploading, allowing the client to not stress about finding all the images at once. The client had less stress, and we had the images we needed.
This also lends itself well to situations where the client may be less advanced in emailing attachments (size constraints) or if questions arise about who has what images. Storing them in a single place and being able to view all tags makes the process run much more smooth and is something we have integrated into our process.
